1835, Fisk. Report to Pres. & Directors of Chesapeake & Ohio Canal
|
|
November 18, 1835 report of Charles B. Fisk, Resident Engineer on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, to the President and Directors of the Company, regarding locating a canal from No. 5, up to south branch of Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. However, Fisk concluded that building a dam below the Capon would be dangerous and hazardous, despite another engineer's supporting report. The report proposed a substitute, but requested that the board make its determination prior to construction. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Duke University Library in Durham, North Carolina).
