House. Comm. of Privileges and Elections. Case of Hale v. Wade, 1834
|
|
December 20, 1834 Report of the Committee of privileges and Elections regarding the petition of Samuel Hale objecting to the election of John Wade as delegated from Franklin County. This matter had been sent back to the committee from the House for further investigation. Following same, the committee resolved that no legal testimony had been provided within the time allotted in the law and either were entitled to the seat; a new election should be conducted. Of note, an amendment suggested by Mr. Marshall would allow Wade to retain his seat. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
