1861? Report of a House committee appointed to examine the cause of "extravagant" pricing of necessities and to determine ways to resolve this issue. Lack of salt was the primary issue and two resolutions requesting that some salt supplies held for the military be given to citizens, as well as inducing a salt company to increase production.
