Constitution of the State of Sequoyah, printed in 1905. Of note, Theodore Roosevelt proposed a unified state of Oklahoma and the Five Civilized
Tribes. The leaders of the Cherokees, Creeks, Choctaws, Seminoles, and Osages ignored Roosevelt's wish and held their own constitutional convention; the
constitutions was ratified in the territory, but Congress refused to act. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held the Harvard
