1840, Wall, Communication on his conduct of letting contracts on the Hocking Canal
Doc. No. 80 Communication from William Wall, in vindication of his conduct with regard to the letting of contracts on the Hocking Valley Canal
[Ohio]. February 8, 1840. Mr. Wall asked that certain letters be published to explain his actions. There were eight letters between him and mostly
banks about how much money was to be available for a project at certain times. Pages 8-19 were a quite fierce defense of his activities, which served as
a history of the second generation of canal building in Ohio. The state spent huge amounts of money on the projects.
