1841 Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Governor's message relating to a Bank of the United States and an increase on the state's banking capital. After conceding that the federal charter of a bank was a "political" question, The committee endorsed the need for same and attached a copy of resolutions to that effect. The committee was not in favor of additional capital for the Banks of the State and of Cape Fear. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
