Report of the Joint Standing Committee on Education regarding the Superintendent of Common School's report, submitted to the Connecticut General
Assembly during the May session, 1846. A plan for the improvement of common schools suggested that school societies be abolished, a state Board of
Education be established, as well as other plans. An attached resolution continued the plan.
