Comm. on Petitions relating to License-Laws report, 1838
May 1838 report To the Connecticut General Assembly from the Committee on Petitions of sundry persons in relation to the license laws. The report's
purpose was to examine the the use of intoxicating drinks, with the goal to remedy and prevent the associated "evils" of alcohol. At the end of the
report was an bill regarding the licensing and regulating taverns. Of note, the final page of the the report (p. 8) indicated that two bills were
attached, although only one is found in this document. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Connecticut Historical Society
Library).
