SEE ALSO 52343 for a detailed history of this dispute. House No. 12 On January 30, 1832, Governor Lincoln sent the Legislature notice from Rhode Island of that state's intent to sue in the Supreme Court of the United States to settle the northern/southern boundary of the two states. Rhode Island thought it was entitled to a large piece of Massachusetts. Lincoln included a very brief history of the boundary. The Resolutions of the Rhode Island Legislature were included.
