1808, Communication from the Gov. on removal of Sheriff Lithgow
|

February 15, 1808 communication from Governor James Sullivan regarding the status of Sheriff Lithgow in Kennebeck County. Following the initial
communication, a committee appointed to review various attachments (not included in this document) concluded that although Lithgow might have misconstrued
the law, they wee not able to decide whether he should be removed from office. This report was then submitted to the Council. (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
