Paine. Letter reporting progress on the trigonometrical survey, 1836
|
|
Senate No. 11 R. T. Paine, who was doing the trigonometrical survey of the state, sent his report on January 2, 1836. Weather prevented work until the second week of April, 1835, but then he was able to work steadily until mid-September. Weather was uncooperative for the rest of the year, so he did the necessary mathematical work in the meantime. He looked forward to spring and especially a solar eclipse in mid-May. He expected to finish the project in six months. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
