System of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Published by Dutton and Wentworth, State Printers (Boston 1833). 97 p. + 3 unnumbered tables. The Order
appointed five Commissioners and authorized them “to appoint an agent … to visit as extensively, as shall be necessary to obtain full information on
the subject, the principal establishments in the Commonwealth and elsewhere; to collect the statistics of those institutions; and to report the facts so
obtained to the Commissioners.”
