Senate No. 18 The Joint Committee on Banks and Banking reported a bill on January 26, 1836: An Act in relation to banks, 1836. Every bank newly
incorporated or given an increase in capital stock had to pay the State Treasurer 1% of the value of the stock within 60 days. The money would be
