House No. 8 A special committee of three men reported a bill: An Act to cede to the United States jurisdiction over Straitsmouth Island, 1835. The island, near Cape Ann, would be granted to the United States for a light house, the Commonwealth having concurrent jurisdiction for civil or criminal matters.
