Joint Comm. on Compesation of Worcester County Probate Officers. Report, 1830
Senate No. 4 A Joint Committee to study the pay rates of probate officers in Worcester County presented a report and an act. Before 1824, the Judge
and Register were paid in fees. When salaries became the compensation model, Worcester County's salaries were set at a much lower level than
comparable counties. The committee studied the pay rates and presented an act to rectify the situation. An Act in addition to an act establishing salaries
for judges and registers in probate, 1831. The judge in Worcester County was to receive $700/annum and the register $1500/annum. (Digitized from a
