House. Act amending an act giving further remedies in equity, 1827
SEE ALSO 51808 H.R. No. 38 An Act in addition to the act giving further remedies in equity, 1827. A judge could hear motions or accept documents
on a case at any convenient time as long as both sides knew what was happening. If one party was more than twenty miles away, notice could be given by
mail. All papers were to be filed and kept by the clerk, whose fees were decided by the Court. It was lawful to name Masters in Chancery to try to
cut the equity case load. All the fees for services were determined by the Court. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
Massachusetts State Library).
