1809 Committee report regarding various towns' petitions on the embargo and other related subjects. After consideration of the issues, the committee recommended and resolved that the act which allowed "unreasonable, arbitrary and unconstitutional searches of their dwelling-houses" was not legally binding on its citizens. An Act so addressing this conclusion was attached to this documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
