SEE ALSO 51902 H.R. No. 82 On March 8, 1827, the Clerk was directed to reprint and give to members a 1792 remonstrance by the proprietors of the Charles River Bridge against granting the Dana Brothers leave to build another bridge. The Charles River Bridge Corporation said it had been given an exclusive right to bridge and ferry tolls, which would be at least halved by the construction of a new bridge. House of Representatives, March 8, 1827 : Ordered, that the secretary be directed to lay before this House the remonstrance of the proprietors of Charles River Bridge against the prayer of the petition of Francis Dana and others for leave to erect a bridge over Charles River from west Boston to Cambridge, dated in the year of our Lord 1792.
