Description and Holding Information
1774-06, Form severing ties with Great Britain [blank]
June 1774 blank forms for towns which stated that the subscribers would not purchase any British goods or merchandise, in light of the Boston harbor
blockade. Of note, the first form has a handwritten notation that it came from Sutton. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by
the American Antiquarian Society Library in Worcester, Massachusetts).
Title:   We the subscribers, inhabitants of the town of [blank] : having taken into our serious consideration the precarious state of the liberties of North-America ... Do, in the presence of God, solemnly and in good faith, covenant and engage with each other, 1st, that from henceforth we will suspend all commercial intercourse with the said island of Great Britain ... Witness our hands, June [blank] 1774.
