|
1820 Petition of the residents of Maine, expressing surprise at the addition of Missouri to the federal legislature to add Maine into the Union; the
petitioners were concerned about the passage of the law prior to March 3, 1820, when Maine's application expires. Thus they requested that this time
limitation be repealed to allow Maine additional time. 1819 Report of the Joint Committee on the separation of the District of Maine, along with the
