March 13, 1788 Proclamation of Governor John Hancock setting April 17th as a day of humiliation, fasting and prayer for God's mercies and for those ancestors who fled to this land, as well as other blessings. Of note, there is some handwritten notes made by someone, following this proclamation. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts Historical Society Library).
