1787? Letter to Governor John Hancock from Christopher Babbitt of Lanesborough, Berkshire County. A handwritten note following the correspondence stated that this remonstrance from Babbitt, an insurgent against Massachusetts in Shay's Rebellion, demonstrated that he was non compos mentis.
