March 1, 1836 Report of the Joint Select Committee to review the various reports and resolutions of North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama
regarding the actions of abolitionists in non-slave holding states. Of note, the committee determined that Maine had no interest in slavery, while
states that recognized it had that right. Resolves noting therefore that no legislature was required because no abolitionist papers existed in the state
