1864, Resolutions against suspension of habeas corpus
March 19, 1864 Resolutions passed by the General Assembly which declared that the suspension of habeas corpus by the Confederate Congress was
unconstitutional. Another set of resolutions supported the principle of states rights and the ability of the Southern states to form the Confederacy;
however the Assembly supported peace between the two governments and an end to the war. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of the title originally held by
the Emory University Library).
