This document presents a Draft Model Code to govern the administration of justice by courts of Indian offenses on Indian reservations. Contents
include a table of contents, the Introduction, Provisions and Commentary (Sections 101 through 129), and an Appendix with eight optional forms prepared for
use in criminal proceedings. (These are preceded by a Notice signed by Kent Frizzell, Solicitor, on April 8, 1975: “This notice is published pursuant
to the directive of Title III of the Act of April 11, 1968, 82 Stat. 78, codified at 25 U.S.C. [sec.] 1311, which requires that, after consultation
with Indians, Indian tribes, and interested agencies of the United States, the Secretary of the Interior recommend to Congress “a model code to govern
the administration of justice by courts of Indian offenses on Indian reservations.”)
