Stephen's New Commentaries, 1903, (14th edition)
|
|
14th Edition, 1903, with a modified title: Mr. Serjeant Stephen’s New Commentaries on the Laws of England (partly founded on Blackstone), by His Honour Judge Stephen ..., thoroughly revised and modernized, and brought down to the present time: 14th ed. under the general editorship of Edward Jenks, Vol. 1–4, London, Butterworth and Co.. (E. Jenks edited this work with the cooperation of sixteen writers, who were responsible only for those chapters to which their names are prefixed in the table of contents. Some entirely new chapters were added, and others of a purely antiquarian character were omitted. This is the latest edition of Stephen’s New Commentaries which was held by Macgrane Coxe in the Blackstone collection which he presented to the Yale Law Library. Later editions of Stephens held by the that library are not included here. Eller mentions the latest known to her as being a London edition of 1928.)
