life and writings of William Pinkney, a Representative and Senator from Maryland and member of the State constitutional ratification convention in 1788.
Pinkney himself voted against ratification. He successfully argued many important cases before the Supreme Court, including McCulloch v. Maryland
(1819), in which the power of Congress to charter the Bank of the United States was upheld. The first part includes a memoir and the second part includes
his memorial on the Rule of the War of 1756, his speech in the House of Representatives on the treaty-making power, and his speech on the Missouri
question. A table of contents is located on p.3.)
