Selden Society, Court Baron: Precedents for Use in Seignorial Courts, 1891
The Court baron : being precedents for use in seignorial and other local courts, together with select pleas from the Bishop of Ely's court of
Littleport: edited by Frederic William Maitland and William Paley Baildon, ix + 158 + 28 p., London: Bernard Quaritch, 1891. ( The editors were asked by the
Council of the Selden Society to continue work on a volume published in 1889 by printing extracts from the rolls of the manorial courts for precedents
to use in seignorial and other local courts. Pages are in Anglo Norman French or Latin with an English translation on the opposite page. Pleas in the
Court of the Bishop of Ely at Littleport between 1285 and 1327 begin on p.119. There is a list of obscure works on P.150, a subject index begins on
p.151, and an index of persons begins on p.155. The beginning of the volume indicates this is Volume IV of the publications of the Selden Society for
the year 1890.)
