Description and Holding Information
Treasurer. Ledger, 1806-15 (MS)
Indiana Territory. Treasurer. Ledger. The dates on the title page are not legible. These are ruled pages with two small columns on the left for the
date, a larger center section for text, and small columns on the right for numbers in dollars and cents. The entries ranged from 1806-1815. The
scans are for counties, but they are not alphabetical. The counties had to send tax monies to the state and the State Treasurer recorded the receipts,
how some of the money was spent, and any difficulties with collection of the funds. Scan 18 was the bookplate of the Indiana State Library in 1921.
Several scans in the 60s and 70s were not legible, almost as if the text had been rinsed away. (For the location of the original of this document,
please consult the relevant section in A Guide to the microfilm collection of early state records. LLMC 61219; OCLC 756403775)
