Maine and Indiana resolves on the North Eastern boundary, 1841 [Mass. doc.]
|
|
Senate No. 9 The Governor found two Resolves and passed them on to the General Court. He observed that the north east boundary would remain a problem and went on to explain the controversy. Maine, in its Resolve, said if the federal government could not solve the problem by the end of the Congressional session, it should send troops to occupy the disputed area. Failing that, Maine would occupy the land. Indiana and Ohio supported that stance. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
