Description and Holding Information
Weekly Arizona miner, 1868-73
1868- Weekly Arizona Miner newspaper, published in Prescott, Arizona by John H. Marion, a staunch Democrat, and Benjamin Weaver (until 1874). The
newspaper was partisan in its positions, due to Marion's influence. Of note, Vol. 5, no. 31-35 (1868 Aug. 1) contained the veto message of President
Andrew Johnson regarding the bill to allow Arkansas back into the Union because of "unconstitutional" voting requirements. (Digitized from a microfilm
copy of titles originally held by the Arizona State Historical Society in Prescott, Arizona).
