|
|
1833 Constitution of Texas; San Houston's signature is found on the final page. Of note, some of the first pages are difficult to read. This proposed constitution, being based on the Massachusetts Constitution of 1790, was typically Anglo-American, and was to be submitted to the Mexican Congress for approval. One of its provisions was the prohibition of the importation of slaves. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held the Texas State Library).
