1845, Constitution adopted in Convention
1845 Texas Constitution adopted in convention in Austin. This was the constitution that was adopted when Texas was annexed to the United States.
Of note, On December 29, 1845, Texas entered the United States as a slave state, and set off the Mexican-American War. (Digitized from a microfilm
copy of titles originally held by the Texas State Library).
