1856 Report of the Judiciary Committee regarding an investigating if fraud existing in canvassing of election returns for the governor of Wisconsin.
After consideration of the evidence the committee determined that two persons were implicated in forgeries as well as several other potential crimes.
The committee did uphold the system of elections, however, as criminal actions could occur relative to the violations it found. An appendix of
testimony was included. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
