company had spent it all on grading the road. It was ready to be graveled or paved. The company had paid a 2% dividend.

annual report of the Marietta and Newport Turnpike Road and Bridge Company. December 31, 1841. The Company paid a 3% dividend from the profits, which
were not explained.

finished and in good repair. The Company was debt free except for the county loan, so it would be able to pay regular dividends, although none were
mentioned.
