Pub. Doc. No. 55 Special report of the Auditor of State [Ohio] in reply to a resolution of the Senate calling for a list of the officers, agents,
and others in employment of the State, together with their compensation. January 27, 1843. John Brough sent the information he had and suggested
where to find other lists. The table began with the Governor, with the person's name, office, salary, and rough residence on pages 5-11. No women were
listed, even as charwomen in the State Capitol. Interestingly, the salaries of the Senators and Representatives varied by as much as $75.
