House. Select Comm. to Repeal Columbus-Sandusky Turnpike. Report, 1842
Appendix to House journal, no. 2. [Ohio] Report of the Select Committee relative to the petitions for the repeal of the charter of the Columbus and
Sandusky Turnpike Company, February 5, 1842. There had been petitions seeking relief "from the tyrannical and excessive exactions" of the road
company. The Committee did not think the company had built the road to the standard laid out in its charter. What had happened to the large land grant
provided the Company to pay for construction? They were collecting tolls they were not authorized to demand. Therefore, the Committee recommended a bill,
but the text was not present with this report. (For the location of the original of this document, please consult the relevant section in a Guide
