Militia law, adopted by the people on July 5th, 1843. Included was the division of the militia as well as the various duties of officers and other related matters. Another law, concerning land claims ws likewise adopted on July 5, 1853 and delineated the process for making claims, limitations on same and other matters relating to these transactions.
