Description and Holding Information
1779-04-19, To the Inhabitants of the State of Vermont
April 19, 1779 account to the inhabitants of Vermont from Ira Allen regarding the status of the New Hampshire Grants and on both sides of the
Connecticut River. Included in his account which presented a position favoring its inclusion in Vermont and against the petition by Jacob Balley and
Davenport Phelps that the New Hampshire Grants be included into the state of New Hampshire. Also included was an extract from the proceedings in Vermont
which established a process for negotiations with New Hampshire regarding the grants. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
Massachusetts Historical Society Library).
