Attorney General. Report on cases concerning the lottery, 1827
SEE ALSO 51850 H.R. No. 32 On January 30, 1827, a report was files about the number of lottery cases in the courts. Five cases were pending for
the Supreme Judicial Court, with twenty-two in various stages in the Municipal Court. There were no cases outside of the metropolitan area. The cases
at the high court level were to turn on the constitutionality of the law, but the attorney General had no idea how that could be relevant. (Digitized
