1812, Constitution
Constitution or Form of Government for the State of Louisiana, printed in New Orleans in 1812. Of note, this constitution does not include a bill of
rights, the law was based on civil (not English common) law, and the divisions were made into parishes, not counties. The constitution was drafted
on January 22, 1812, and became a state on April 30, 1812. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by American Antiquarian Society
Library in Worcester, Massachusetts).
