1835, Petition of the tribe against trespassers (MS)
October session, 1835 Petition of Tobias Ross of the Narragansett Council to the General Assembly, complaining about the trespass of outsiders,
mostly Negroes, who are also accused of taking their women. Ross requested that the Assembly find a way to prevent this without a lawsuit. (Digitized
from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Rhode Island Department of State).
