passed on April 21, 1649, by the assembly of the Maryland colony, in St. Mary's City. Included was punishment by death for blaspheming or denying
Jesus Christ, as well was a fine for calling anyone in a reproachful manner various names, including Roundhead, Papist, Lutheran, and others. (Digitized
