Commissioners on State Valuation. Report, 1860
Thirty-ninth Legislature. House. No. 8. Report of the Commissioners on state valuation, February 10, 1860. The seven Commissioners discovered that
the data was like comparing apples to oranges, so they worked hard to understand how it was gathered and the thinking of the assessors. Their
eventual figure was $164,755,870 for the value of the state's real and personal estate, an increase of about $100,000,000 from 1850. (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
