SEE ALSO 56254 Forty-fourth Legislature. House. No. 10. The Committee on the Judiciary submitted a bill: An Act to amend chapter thirty-two of the public laws of 1861, entitled an act to restrict the jurisdiction of justices of the peace to trial justices, 1865. Trial justices had to keep a true docket of the cases before them, with names, crimes, and fines, and send a copy of the docket to the County Commissioners once a year. There were penalties for failure to do so. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Maine Historical Society Library, the Maine State Library, and the Library of Congress).
