Senate. Comm. on the Judiciary. Act to authorize the city of Gardiner to lend its aid to the Androscoggin Railroad .. 1860
Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 15. The Committee on the Judiciary submitted: An Act to authorize the City of Gardiner to lend its aid in
the construction of an extension of the Androscoggin Railroad from the town of Leeds to the City of Gardiner, 1860. Gardiner could aid the construction
up to $150,000. Both the town and the company had to vote to accept the plan. When five miles of track had been completed, the city could begin
payments. There were directions for the payment process, how to manage the account, and how to take over the railroad, if necessary. The track needed
to be completed within two years for the final payout to be made. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of
Congress).
