Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 4. An Act providing for the inspection of hay, 1860. Towns, if petitioned, could appoint a person to inspect and weigh bales of hay. Grades of hay were defined, as was the inspector's brand. There were fines for selling uninspected hay, with certain caveats.
