February 21,1844 report of the House select committee regarding various private petitions. Of note, as a preliminary matter, the committee noted
that the House had not concurred to postponed all but specific petitions until the next legislative session, as stated by the Senate in its "joint
order." Given the reasonableness of some of the petitions the committee recommended that these petitions be examined as soon as practical. (Digitized from
