House. Comm. on State Lands. Report, 1842-02-16
February 16, 1842 Report of the Committee upon State Lands which reported on the circumstances of petition of James Stickney and Thomas Perley and
others in cutting lumber after being granted a Massachusetts permit to cut in certain state land. The report further found that the men were accused of
trespassing on Maine lands, and all was confiscated; men arrested. After review, the committee found little evidence of trespassing although the
men's business was ruined. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the the Library of Congress).
