Title:   A statement, shewing the amount of tax on licenses to merchants, auctioneers, brokers, pedlars, keepers of ordinaries and houses of private entertainment, venders of lottery tickets and exhibitors of shows, derived from the returns for 1838 : the amount of taxes on law process and seals for the year ending the 31st August, 1837, after deducting commissions therefrom, and the amount paid or payable into the Treasury for the militia fines of 1836, except where otherwise noted, prepared in compliance with a resolution of the House of Delegates of the 21st January, 1839.
